QS:001 - What is Six Sigma?
The purpose of this course is to introduce the student
to the basic concepts of Six Sigma. The course describes
the role of Six Sigma within the framework of systematic
performance excellence, as well as the impressive
benefits that have accrued to major corporations
from the use of Six Sigma. The course explains the
unique terminology of Six Sigma and explains how
the Six Sigma measurements DPMO and Sigma Score
are calculated. This is a cornerstone course. It
is the first course in our Six Sigma series, as
well as the first key course in our Executive Overview
series.
QS:002 - What is Teamwork?
The purpose of this course is to introduce the student
to the basic concepts of Teamwork. Learn the fundamentals
of team dynamics, team roles, and team responsibilities.
It is an intermediate level course in our TQM -
Total Quality Management track, as well as a key
course in our Green Belt / Black Belt series.
QS:003 - What is Variation?
An introductory course to understanding variation
and its effects on process performance. Reduction
of variation is a key to improving processes
and is one of the main purposes of Six Sigma.
This course explains principles for selection of
measures, collection of data, and simple analytical
tools for reducing variation. Tools explained include
the run chart, frequency table, and histogram. The
course introduces the student to the use of control
charts, focusing on interpretation and reaction
to process signals. |

Executive
Overview: This track is an introduction to the
quality sciences for the manager.
Six Sigma: A series on the specific methodologies
of the popular Six Sigma approach. These can be
bundled with other courses into a short track leading
to the Green Belt or a longer track leading to the
Black Belt.
SPC: A series on how to calculate and use
variables, attribute, and individuals charts and
process capability.
Principles of TQM: This series will cover
the basic tools, methodologies, and philosophy of
TQM, the foundation of the practices of 21st century
quality science.
Leadership: A series that focuses on the
Baldrige Criteria as a model for performance excellence,
with emphasis on the categories that make up the
Leadership Triad.
Design Control: A series that explains how
to incorporate prevention into the design process,
and how to use the most popular tools and methodologies
of design control.
Advanced Industrial Statistics: An in depth
look at the tools and practices of advanced techniques
of statistical analysis, such as Design of Experiments.
This track in combination with the Six Sigma track
constitutes the body of knowledge for a Master Black
Belt. |
