C.P.M. - ISM - Institute for Supply Management  offers their Certified Purchasing Manager (C.P.M.) program to the experienced purchasing and supply chain professional. It focuses on managerial and leadership skills, plus a variety of specialized functions (sourcing analysis, supply and inventory management, forecasting) designed to enhance the value of procurement and supply management within an organization. It also covers the operational aspects of the purchasing and the supply function, such as identifying requirements, preparing solicitations and agreements, negotiations, technology, quality, and maintaining relationships. Since 1974, more than 32,000 SCM professionals have received and enjoy the benefits of this designation.

The C.P.M. review program consists of four (4) key modules that total approximately 64 hours of training. Listed below are the four C.P.M. modules offered by SCE in their recommended order as well as a detail of concepts and areas covered in each module as defined by ISM, the association that sponsors this Certification.

Based on training over a thousand supply chain professionals in the C.P.M./A.P.P., Pat has designed his review programs to incorporate ISM based material, practical examples and test question diagnostics. In addition to experience and degree requirements, candidates must pass Modules 1 - 4 exams to obtain the C.P.M. designation. In addition to experience and degree requirements, candidates must pass Modules 1 & 2 exams to obtain the A.P.P. designation.

Experience / Degree Requirements: applicants must have five (5) years of full time professional (non-clerical, non-support) purchasing and supply management experience or have a four year degree from an accredited institution and three (3) years professional purchasing or supply management experience. For lifetime certification, applicants must document eighteen (18) years of professional purchasing or supply management experience.
